How to Activate Your License

Dashboard (GUI) Terminal (CLI)

1. Boot into Kodachi Linux on your device
2. Open the Kodachi Dashboard (Lite or Full version) from the application menu
3. Click the About tab in the sidebar (bottom icon)
4. Expand the Support & Licensing section, then click Premium License
5. Enter your license key in the input field (format XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX) or use the paste button to paste from clipboard
6. Click Activate License and wait for confirmation

1. Boot into Kodachi Linux on your device
2. Open a terminal window
3. First, authenticate with the Kodachi server:
   $ sudo online-auth authenticate
4. Activate your license key:
   $ sudo online-auth activate-license --key "XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX"
5. Verify your license is active:
   $ sudo online-auth license-status

Additional useful commands:

# Check current login status
$ sudo online-auth check-login

# Keep session alive with auto-heartbeat
$ sudo online-auth authenticate --keep-alive

# Get license status in JSON format
$ sudo online-auth license-status --json

# Release license to transfer to another device
$ sudo online-auth release-license

Each key activates 1 device. Use a different key for each device.

Tip: Use the paste button in the dashboard or pipe your key from clipboard in the terminal.

Important Security Information

Do not share your license keys. Each key is limited to the number of devices shown in your order. Sharing may result in deactivation.

License Reuse and Device Transfer (Accurate Flow)
License activation is managed by online-auth and is also available in the Dashboard (About → Premium License).

• If you keep the same active installation on the same PC, no release step is needed.
• If you plan to reinstall on the same PC, release first on the current system, then activate again after reinstall.
• If you move to a different PC, release on the old device first, then activate on the new device.
• After release, the same key can be activated again on this PC or another PC.
• CLI equivalents: sudo online-auth license-status, sudo online-auth release-license, sudo online-auth activate-license --key "YOUR-KEY".
